Damn! It's been a while since the last time I posted something...If someone really cares about it and feels offended, I offer my sincere apologies, ha ha.
Today I want to share with you this illustration. With some luck you will see it published soon in the "XXII Catálogo de Ilustradores de Publicaciones Infantiles y Juveniles", It's sort of an illustration contest organized by the National Culture & Arts Council at México.
This piece will be a part of a series that I'll be calling "People of the end of the world" or in spanish, "Personajes del fin del mundo".
The basic concept was born of many mental scenes I've been collecting in my day to day while walking across the Mexico City.
As you know, our country is a place of great economic and cultural contrasts. The battle against poverty have pushed the low-income people to go out to the streets to find new ways to make a living. As a result, many characters have emerged offering all kinds of services and products, creating interesting visual situations that together with the urban chaos finally inspired me to make this series of illustrations.
I'm adding a few steps explaining the sketching process and also some shots of detailed work. Hope you like!
And sorry again for the shitty English... -_-
