BIKES, death & rebirth

Wow this week was really a thing...First of all I found out that I have won a 2nd place in a poster design contest, thing that never had occurred in my entire life, and later, a few days after the announcement I crashed my bike and myself with a car returning from my office. 

I'm a really tough cool guy so I didn't get severe injuries, only my back is hurting a little. The ironic fact is that the topic of the design contest was "the excess of car usage and bicycle as an alternate sustainable transportation medium" or something like that. At the end the price was a bicycle made out of bamboo (coolest thing) >_<

The contest organization was made by the National Urban Cycling Network at México (BICIRED) with the help of many sponsors.

I leave you with some cool pictures of my bike accident, the awards event and the poster made for the contest which won the second price. The jury made the selection out of 300 pieces, I barely can believe it...

Three girls & a cup

This is a project I did 2 months ago. It was for a dude who sells 360º video services and he wanted to release an iPhone app to support the hardware part. The first one was used to replace the screenshots in the iTunes store to give some explanation and info about the app. The second one was for their site header, it's a tricked 360º style illustration that will keep spinning around trough the end of time, F-O-R-E-V-E-R  :0

Enjoying the little things, Office edition

I spend 90% of my time complaining about my actual job and how I waste my time doing shitty design and boring stuff, but there are some days when a new project arrives to our office demanding cool graphic concepts from me.

The next two were really funny to made because my new boss, an easy going-creative-gay-cool dude, let me work with total liberty, he said very confident -I don't want anything realistic, just draw some comic characters like the ones you always do-.Cool...  :D

The first one was done for a Christmas carnival & the second one for a rock festival video mapping concept.

BIG SPIN

Hi there dudes! today I'm bringing to you a flyer design I made for the Mexican punk band BIG SPIN. They gave me total freedom to make my stuff which meant pure fun to me.

The cool fact about this flyer is that it really achieved it's purpose and got amazingly viralized. Of such magnitude that now I'm regretting of haven't placed my blog address somewhere haha :(

If you like old school punk rock music I highly recommend to you to listen to BIG SPIN, all their lyrics are in English so there's no spanishphobic excuse not to listen to them.

In addition I leave some process pics and some captures of the websites where the flyer came across.

Piranhas in a Bathtub

Hi folks, it's monday already and to make this shitty day less horrible (or more maybe), I want to share this logo I made for some pals who have a "magic" card game team, sounds weird I know, but they are really serious about their shit.

At first I misunderstood the name of the team so I began to work over a wrong concept, so I'm leaving with you the first sketch, which was super funny to realize, and some process for the right one xD.

Print! "Dunk"

Check this stuff dudes! It's a screen printing of an illustration I made for the last Garage Art sale. It's a 4 color work printed on a 216gr. 33 x 50.8 cm (12.9 x 19.8 in) Via Felt cotton paper. I don't know about you, but in my opinion it looks pretty aawwesome...!
